Storyline:Plot SynopsisThe film opens with the arrival of the train, theOrient Express, into a Budapest train depot.Apparently, it refers in part to the directionless, surrealistic search of the befuddled hero/common man around the country for a fictional character.Her heroic, victorious cousin from the warring Swedish army, Prince Palatine Charles Gustavus (Reginald Owen) has arrived home, and "Sweden now has the commanding place in Europe" after thirty years of war.Quite a few of the smaller supporting roles were played by venerable actors, such as Ralph Bellamy (as Rosemary's Dr.Finding themselves on the same plane and only one row apart, Harry overhears Sally's fussy ordering, and then suddenly places her: "The University of Chicago, right?" They renew acquaintances after he switches seats to be next to her.
